BANK STREET FILMS was founded in 2007 by Elizabeth Wood and Gabriel Nussbaum with their first film, the documentary WADE IN THE WATER, CHILDREN. The most recent project was WHITE GIRL, which premiered in competition at Sundance 2016. A  New York Times Critics' Pick, WHITE GIRL stirred up trouble with its exploration of female sexuality, white privilege, and racial inequality. The film was acquired by Netflix, and enjoyed a theatrical release in select cities.

Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Elizabeth was honored as one of Variety's 10 Directors to Watch 2016. She holds an MFA from Columbia University's Film program, where she was awarded a screenwriting fellowship. Before that Elizabeth studied writing, sex, drugs and fine arts at the New School (Eugene Lang + Parsons). Elizabeth Wood wrote and directed WHITE GIRL, inspired by her own experiences.

Gabriel Nussbaum, a lifelong New Yorker, was the producer as well as co-editor of WHITE GIRL. Gabriel wrote the viral hit A Brief History of John Baldessari, directed the 16mm short How it Ended starring Debra Winger, and has written + directed countless short films for clients including Toyota, the Four Seasons, Chipotle, Google, and Ford. Gabriel studied experimental drama and sociology at NYU before veering into film.
